Tempeh Culture was born from a journey. It started in Bali, where I tasted tempeh unlike anything I had ever experienced in the U.S. It was rich, flavorful, and deeply connected to tradition. I was fascinated. So I stayed, learned how to make it from scratch, and fell in love with the process of fermentation.

When I returned home, I began experimenting in my own kitchen. I knew I wanted to bring this powerful food to more people, but with a modern twist that fit today’s on-the-go lifestyle. That’s how tempeh jerky was born.

At Tempeh Culture, we believe the future of protein is fermented. Our snacks are whole-food, plant-based, gut-friendly, and made without plastic.

We built The Culture Kit to bring the art of fermentation to you with everything you need to ferment perfect tempeh right at home. Most Tempeh techniques use a plastic bag as a growing vessel but this system uses a fermentation tray to make 2 plus pounds of fresh tempeh per batch.
